Ya, looks like I have to spread my social butterfly wings and branch out. It's gonna be hard because I really did enjoy playing with these guys. It's so hard to find quality people on xbox live.

Whenever I hop on my husband's character for herbing or something similar, I will usually announce in guildchat, "(This is Kae)". Then, if I ever say anything in guild chat while on his character, I preface it with (Kae), such as "(Kae) lol, polar bear attack!"

It really helps prevent people from seeing his name as being my identity because they have the constant reminder that it's Kae.

As for being the messenger... ugh, I'd hate that. Time to find a new group of people to play with, I guess?

That's exactly how it went down for my character. I would get whispers, pms, guild chat, and even people asking my party members if it was me or my brother they were playing with. I'm sorry if my involvement and us playing together has caused an issue in identity as I know EXACTLY how it feels to lose your tag. I can only hope that in time, they will respect you as much as the people who no longer ask if it's 'Shammando???' do (my brother's tag).

Although I partially agree that there is always multiple sources of fault, I'd be cautious about saying it's all yours. I think many people are ignorant about that sort of thing and until it happens to them, won't understand how cruddy it makes the person feel. Readers, I ask you this, "How would it feel if your friends started calling you on your phone, leaving you text messages, or even coming to your door just to ask you if your friend or family member was there?" It may seem harmless once, but when you start being known as 'The Messenger' instead of an actual person...it gets to you.

Ha! I think 2 people sharing a raiding character is dangerous for exactly the reason above. What if the skill level was different? You'd be left wondering "Did we get the good pally... or the other one tonight?"

A priest who was in my guild let his brother play his account. This led to a number of shenanigans such as his brother playing him and taking raid invites without telling any of the other raiders at the time. This week the priest's brother took his character to an Ulduar 25 and got him saved, and that's when the GM decided enough was enough and booted him.
