Farming Cloth for Tailoring

Farming Cloth for Tailoring
27 August, 2009  |  2 comments  |  World of Warcraft

Ok, I’m cheap I admit it. I’m even cheaper in game.. unless of course there’s a cute little fuzzy critter that’s asking me to take him home from the auction house.

So for the past week or so I’ve been leveling Tailoring from scratch. And though I have snuck away to the AH for the last 1 or 2 stacks of cloth I’ve farmed all of the cloth.

Ok the above paragraph is a lie Linen Cloth was 40s a stack so I just bought it all out. Once I bought that all out I went to the next step: Wool Cloth. Wool Cloth was going for 18g a stack! WTH! Are you kidding me? It wasn’t like some jerk jacked up the price because he had the only cloth up, no it was pages and pages of cloth for 18g a stack!

So I put on my farming shoes and headed to the Stockades. Even as horde it was really easy to get to. I farmed Stockades for over an hour and got all the wool I needed. Note: Each run took me about 15 min and I did about 6 runs. I may go back there to farm wool just for the AH.

Next is Silk Cloth. While looking for good places to farm wool I came across RFK and found a lot of Silk. If you don’t want to head there you can always go to SM. That’s were all the cool kids go. I also got a bit here and there from Stockades. I randomly ended up with enough cloth to get me through to Mageweave. With the AH’s help for the last 3 stacks I believe.

For Mageweave I went straight to ZF. I ran it about 3 times and ended up with quite a bit. I suggest doing it 4-5 though.

Runecloth I actually farmed Hellfire Ramparts with a friend. It was nice because I would get Netherweave along with it. And that’s where I am at atm. My tailoring is at 340. I still have another 35 levels of Netherweave to go. I was thinking of having Kos do a few more instances really quickly with me and finish it up in Outlands.

Frostcloth I plan on heading to: Top of Voltarus in Zul’Drak (the mobs are practically instant spawns), The Blight Line near The Lost Lands in Scholazar Basin (the mobs are also practically instant spawns). According to some random guide I found while googling. Hopefully it’s right and I can finally max out my Tailoring. And be done! YAY!

And yes, I felt the image was somewhat fitting for Tailoring …

Ouch. Server Transfer ftw? :p Pay Blizzard $25 because their servers are crowded! I have the best ideas... ;)

The problem with this strategy is that on my server I can't get into non-heroic instances because of the "additional instances cannot be launched" garbage. :(

PvPriest, Part 2: Arena Duos and Your Role

As a shadow priest, you have a decent amount of control, you're reasonably hardy, but you do not have many methods of saving your partner in a pinch. That means, in a team with two damage classes, you want to get either a frost mage or a rogue for a partner. Read more

Shadow Dueling ~ A Guest Post by Calsong

Protective, shimmering radiance fills the air as you crouch, watching the spot the dagger-wielding rogue disappeared. A Fear Ward is active, but your feet are numb. You pace, reviewing your plan of action as you renew your shield. Suddenly the rogue is upon you, stunning you in place and crippling your movements. This was expected, you reassure yourself whilst spamming the Psychic Scream button. Read more

The Guild – Rules

Last installation I talked about how important rules and recruitment were (and coincidentally, how similar they were to hooking up a girl). This week I'm going to cover all the areas where your dirty little rules should expand to. I'm going to start with quoting three bullets from last week, explain them even more vigorously, and then finally explore the areas where there should be rules. Read more
