We were all noobs once. Or, more than once for some. I’m sure we all share some of the same memories, but here are the ones that I remember the most.
Wait, Talents? When the heck did I get those?
My first character I leveled past 10 with was a Tauren Hunter named Caillean. I didn’t know about talent points until level 25. When I did discover them I think I just randomly put them everywhere. You know what I mean, 1 point in each talent because obviously that’s what I was supposed to do. I then attempted to max out all the talents because again that was obviously what I had to do.
I don’t know what flagged for PvP is, but maybe we shouldn’t go in there.
After maybe a month of playing on my Tauren I quit WoW and went back to FFXI online for months. Once friends from that game started to switch to WoW I went with them. I was an Alliance now and my friend wanted to explore with me. Well we found a road in Elwynn Forest and picked a direction. As we started to enter Redridge a warning popped up stating that entering would flag us for PvP. We both stopped dead in our tracks on the road and decided we didn’t know what that meant and didn’t want to risk it. I still remember staring into Redridge as though it was a mystery zone that I would have to wait a long time before exploring.

LFG UBRS (need key)
Oi. The days of trying to pug that damn instance. To top it all off was never ever finishing it because my group always broke at the last boss. But I neeeeded my .5 tier to get into a raiding guild!!!!! Luckily the expansion came out a few months later and I didn’t have to do it again.
Aquatic Form quest line sucked… it sucked so bad….
So let me get this straight. You want my level 16 NE Druid to go all the way to Westfall and look for an anchor that is supposed to be a marker and then figure out I need to go all the way down the side of the ocean and almost drown and get only HALF of the item that I need. This was pre-pretty sparkly things that showed you the quest item.
Shade of Aran = awesome.
Kara was my first “raiding guild” experience. Shade of Aran was by far my most favorite encounter. There was just so much to pay attention to. Blizzards, Fires, Chains, and Missiles Oh My!
Omgosh! I can afford gear from the vendor!!
I remember when my little NE druid hit 20 something and I looked at all my silver and thought I had so much. I saw a Leather Armor vendor in Ashenvale and wondered if I had enough to get some new gear. I did! I bought a whole set. I had no idea there was an AH. This was back when the AH was only in Ironforge.
I’m purple!!
Using Shadowform for the first time was just awesome. Coming from FFXI I played as a White Mage (Healing only class). I had a deep desire to DPS as WHM. Shadowform allowed me fulfill that desire.
What is your most noobish memories?
