WoW Signatures Part 2
3 August, 2009  |  No comments  |  World of Warcraft

I made a post previously about where to find generated signatures here. Today I’m going to show you the signatures I make, and a tiny tiny tutorial generalization on how to make your own.

Here are a few examples of my work:
You can tell the date on these as I wasn’t in the habit of giving people awesome gear. They got what they had on.

I’m actually behind on my requests, Ronnin I didn’t forget about you! I promise! I’m just lazy.

What I use: Photoshop CS3, WoW Model Viewer, and Screenshots.

Photoshop can be purchased here. Or if you prefer I hear Gimp is wonderful and free here. WoW Model Viewer can be downloaded here. As a warning, WMV (WoW Model Viewer) is extremely buggy. So buggy that I’ve stopped using it. My version doesn’t show hair in screenshots anymore. If anyone knows a fix let me know! So I’ve brought myself to using in game screenshots. Screenshots are great for magical effects anyway.

For my backgrounds I usually pick a color and then pick 2 other colors (one lighter than the original, and one darker) and use grunge/smoke/blood photoshop brushes. I literally just splatter it on until something looks good. A good resource for brushes is DeviantArt. Just be sure that they allow free use for the brushes you find!

Then, after I take a photo shoot with whoever I am making the sig for I piece them together to make whatever effect I want. Or really what they want. It can be a little complex. Epi, the druid at the top, wanted to showcase her tree form, NE form, show her new mace she got, and show a little dancing. Butch, the pally 2nd from the top, wanted his Prot highlighted and his Ret highlighted. Or it can be just as simple as what Mord wanted. Mord, the warlock at the bottom, was forced into it by his GF as a gift. So he really didn’t know what he wanted.

It’s as simple as that! lol

One thing I like to point out is that while yes you are creating the signature it is ultimately theirs. If they want to change something you did it’s ok! I know I have had to change a few signatures from something I really loved to something I did o.O at. But that’s what they wanted! And they were happy with it! So in the end that is all that really matters. That the person you are making the signature for is happy.

PvPriest, Part 2: Arena Duos and Your Role

As a shadow priest, you have a decent amount of control, you're reasonably hardy, but you do not have many methods of saving your partner in a pinch. That means, in a team with two damage classes, you want to get either a frost mage or a rogue for a partner. Read more

Shadow Dueling ~ A Guest Post by Calsong

Protective, shimmering radiance fills the air as you crouch, watching the spot the dagger-wielding rogue disappeared. A Fear Ward is active, but your feet are numb. You pace, reviewing your plan of action as you renew your shield. Suddenly the rogue is upon you, stunning you in place and crippling your movements. This was expected, you reassure yourself whilst spamming the Psychic Scream button. Read more

The Guild – Rules

Last installation I talked about how important rules and recruitment were (and coincidentally, how similar they were to hooking up a girl). This week I'm going to cover all the areas where your dirty little rules should expand to. I'm going to start with quoting three bullets from last week, explain them even more vigorously, and then finally explore the areas where there should be rules. Read more
