Comment Policy

Thanks for checking out my comment policy! Lately it seems I’ve been having issues with users leaving comments that not only don’t help, but are extremely distracting. Since you are reading this I’m going to assume that you will probably never do any of the things I’m going to list. However, if you ever wonder why I deleted a comment it’s because they didn’t follow the policy.

E-Mail Addresses

Please use a valid e-mail address. You will not receive any spam unless you choose to receive an e-mail if someone responds. No one can see your e-mail address except me and I will do absolutely nothing with it. Any comments left with an invalid e-mail (asdf@asdf.com) will be deleted. No exceptions.

Signatures

Signatures are allowed so long as they are no more than 2 lines. For example:

Good:

~ Kirei
A Gamer of Sorts

Bad:

~ Kirei
A Gamer …of Sorts

I understand most new bloggers use comments to generate traffic to their blog. I used to when I first started out. However, be sure to keep it short and sweet. Also understand that if you supply your website address in the appropriate field by your name and e-mail that your name will be hyperlinked to your website so you don’t have to supply a link in the signature. If your comment is on topic and well written people will click your name to find out more. Please do not use links like: http://tryviagra.com or http://freedebtsolutions.com.

Editing Your Comment

I have never edited a comment before. However, I do reserve the right to do so if I choose. I will only edit if you use keywords for your name, fill the comment with affiliate links, or just try to be a spammer. Now I say edit rather than delete because there just may be a chance you said something smart that I would like my readers to read. If however you don’t say anything smart your comment will be deleted.

You Can Have a Different Opinion

Really you can. I know I’m not perfect as do my other writers. So we look to comments on how we can improve or even to just see a different outlook on the situation. Understand that just because you have a different opinion doesn’t mean that you can be rude, vulgar, or downright hateful about it. Express your opinion in a respectful manner and it will come across much better than “You’re stupid.”

You Are Not Anonymous

Leaving a fake e-mail, name, whatever doesn’t make you anonymous. Every comment you leave gives me your IP address. If you are a constant issue and problem I will just ban your IP from the site.

How Do I Get an Avatar?

I use Gravatars!  They’re great. If you comment on another blog or site that uses them it will recognize your email and use the avatar you have set up. And set up is a breeze, you literally just upload and go.

Requesting BETA Keys

If you request a BETA key on a random post that you just happened by, your comment will be deleted. Ask for keys in the appropriate place. If you find that you can not leave a comment on an appropriate post that is because either that contest is over, or I am out of BETA keys and can not give you any. Either way you will NOT receive a key.
