I did one of these awhile back and it was rather amusing. So the time has come that I actually have quite a few more to share. Most of my traffic still comes from Google and I glance at the keywords used to get to my site. Mostly for new ideas on what to write about. Over the past few months I’ve pulled out some “WTF” keywords just to share them with you guys. Enjoy.

Join Me On HONCAST

I’m sure my regulars have noticed I haven’t been posting too often. I missed my Search Sunday’s deadline and I just checked to make sure I had the recent patch notes posted that was released… a week ago. Yay, I didn’t slack on that. Anyway, while there have been a number of factors involved with the lack of posting lately one of them is that I was asked to join HONCAST.com.

HONCAST is a Heroes of Newerth competitive news and shoutcasting site. They follow the competitive scene of HoN and even host their own tournaments on Sundays. They used to have a weekly podcast, but it kinda fell through the cracks. Which is where I come in. I was asked to help them out with their podcast. To bring back the weekly, same time, same place, feel. So now, every Thursday at 10 EST I will be co-hosting with Breakycpk.

Our first show is tomorrow, May 6th. Topics we’ll be discussing are patch notes, tournament results, competitive team news, and get this… an S2 Maliken interview! Yep, I get to interview Maliken! Jealous? I know you are. …right?

So join me on HONCAST.com tomorrow if you want to hear the news, listen to Maliken, or if you were just curious what I sound like.

Inspired by one of my favorite WoW blogs I like Bubbles.

Most of my traffic comes from Google mostly searching for something HoN related with a smidge of WoW here and there. So I often see the same keywords over and over again. Every so often though.. something will come by that I have to look at again and think.. “wtf..” Here’s a list of some of the more wacky and crazy that I’ve seen lately.

So, uhm about me? Ok, let’s see…My name is Robert. Meh, this is harder than I expected.

Well, I’m from Romania, that’s somewhere under Ukraine and above Bulgaria, Cartographer ain’t turned on atm so can’t link coords. (you WoW fans will get that joke).

I’m 20 years old, studying law, preparing myself for the ,,lawyer life”, that’s if my game addiction would miraculously cure itself anytime soon. Yeah, I’m what you could label as a game addict… every game that I could get my hands on was bound to turn into an addiction sooner or later… well, that’s until World of Warcraft slapped me in the face… things haven’t been the same since. No game could keep me entertained more than a couple of hours; no… nothing was good enough.

So, games right?

Atm playing WoW, Dota and I’ve been doing a little bit of HoN lately, it’s quite epic indeed. I enjoy all genres of gaming though RPGs come up on top, prolly followed by strategy games. Hmm, do you guys have a favorite game? I know I have… even though I play WoW 24/7, my all time favorite game was and is Gothic 1. Nevertheless, games like Age of Empires, Diablo or Starcraft will always have a special place in my heart.

So, playing the warlock class on Sylvanas, a PvP realm <3. I quit PvE and started pawning in arenas. Got to 1.8k rating with fail gear (couple of blues). This motivated me into going hardcore arenas, and I’m going for a title this season, so wish me luck. You don’t want this guy to /target you ! ! -> He pawns.

Random things inc…

Hmm, I like music (rock, metal and similar genres, though often caught singing Britney Spears while showering). Movies… meh , horrors ftw. I watch every horror movie I can get my hands on. Favorite? Zomg does anyone remember Stephen King’s It ? Aw that was a bad ass movie. I was 8 years old when I first saw that… It scarred me for life. I HATE CLOWNS, THEY ARE DAMN EVIL!

Man, seriously clowns are damn freaky… Right?

Well, I’ll end this, because the dude on the left is really getting to me.

A Warlock Has Found His Way Into My Little Blogging Corner!

How dare he!? Right? Warlocks are sneaky… I originally advertised for a Shadow Priest blogger. Well, I got some kind of shadow. A Warlock sent me a witty, funny, and informative post on PvPing. I was shocked to learn it wasn’t just an I WIN button that gets secretly unlocked when you hit 80.

Let’s give a warm welcome to Thebanned. He’s from Romania and plays on the Sylvanas (EU) server. He’s into arenas and has hit 1.8k rating. He’s hoping to go for a title in the upcoming season. Be sure to wish him luck!

Scary isn’t he? He looks like every Warlock that has destroyed my poor little Spriest before I could blink. Wait.. why am I letting him onto my blog?!

He’ll begin posting in about a week on life as a Warlock and other random WoW related things. Stay tuned for his About page, due to be up in the next day or two.

Since you are reading this I’m going to assume that you will probably never do any of the things I’m going to list. However, if you ever wonder why I deleted a comment it’s because they didn’t follow the policy.

Please use a valid e-mail address. You will not receive any spam unless you choose to receive an e-mail if someone responds. No one can see your e-mail address except me and I will do absolutely nothing with it. Any comments left with an invalid e-mail (asdf@asdf.com) will be deleted. No exceptions.

I understand most new bloggers use comments to generate traffic to their blog. I used to when I first started out. However, be sure to keep it short and sweet. Editing Your Comment

I have never edited a comment before. However, I do reserve the right to do so if I choose. I will only edit if you use keywords for your name, fill the comment with affiliate links, or just try to be a spammer. Now I say edit rather than delete because there just may be a chance you said something smart that I would like my readers to read. Really you can. I know I’m not perfect as do my other writers. So we look to comments on how we can improve or even to just see a different outlook on the situation. How Do I Get an Avatar?

I use Gravatars! They’re great. If you comment on another blog or site that uses them it will recognize your email and use the avatar you have set up. And set up is a breeze, you literally just upload and go.

If you request a BETA key on a random post that you just happened by, your comment will be deleted. Ask for keys in the appropriate place. If you find that you can not leave a comment on an appropriate post that is because either that contest is over, or I am out of BETA keys and can not give you any. Either way you will NOT receive a key.

Alrighty guys here’s to come:

A 1 stop shop for a quick 30 seconds hero guide. Basically it’s going to be a page were you can quickly find a skill and item build for all heroes. This is for all those times were you play BD or SD and just need a quick glance to get you started. It’ll also include a link to the guide that I used to give the item/skill build so for later if you are interested you can read the entire thing.

More hero guides. I’ve only done Succy so far and I plan on doing more.

A geek/nerd/gamer tshirt shop. Yep, you know you want them.

Unfortunately these all take time, but the end result is really worth it. Really worth it. So stay tuned and I’ll keep ya posted.

A Day in the Life of Gamer Cat Fenix

Ok, I love my cat to death. I talk about him like a child of mine. No, you’re the one that’s crazy. So I bring you a day in the life of the mascot of A Gamer of Sorts, Fenix aka Feez.

9:00AM Fenix is found sleeping on some clothes...

10:30AM Finally awake and grabbing some food.

10:32AM ....and back to sleep.

12:00PM ..LAZER PEWPEWPEW

2:00PM Just finished a game of HoN

3:30PM slurp slurp slurp

6:00PM Gray Fox/Jon playing MW2

6:05PM ....Fenix joins him.

10:00PM ..the hamper is my house. You are not invited.

3:10AM (right now) Stop following me and taking pictures of me.

3:19AM ...what did I just say? Leave me alone.

And that is the life of my gamer cat. He eats, sleeps, poops, and then sleeps some more. Love my little baby. That’s my random post of the month. :w00t: Enjoy.

I Make Money… Except That I Don’t

Honestly I don’t. I try, not very hard mind you, but there is a little effort. I try through affiliate links. You’ll find Amazon affiliate links on game reviews and at the bottom of this page for Geek Storage. Basically when you click on any Amazon links through my site and purchase a product I earn a percentage. That also includes any product that I did not directly link to. So for example, I link to MW2 for the Xbox 360 and you decide that while you’re on Amazon you want to purchase a MW2 strategy guide as well. Even though I did not directly link to the strat guide I will receive a percentage on it if you purchase it.

As awesome as it would be to be paid to review games we are not. We don’t receive games for free (…we can dream). Any review you see on this site has been based on our choice and given an honest review without any thought of “I wonder how much money I can make if I say blahblahblah is good.”

Why the hell am I telling you this? The FTC has made it mandatory for bloggers in the US to disclose whether or not they get paid for reviews among other things. If we actually get to the point that we are receiving free stuff to review you will be notified (You let me have my dream..). And since I am throwing up another review here soon remember to support GamerofSorts.com by purchasing through our links.

Break From Gaming?

Today I’m left with the question of why I actually game. I remember enjoying it. I remember having fun. I remember feeling satisfied after putting down the controller, or mouse, whatever. Today I’ve lost those feelings. I’m not having fun. I’m not enjoying it. And I most certainly am not satisfied with my gaming experience. The past few days I’ve had a bad patch of HoN games. I feel as though I’m losing every single one and it’s building the rage. Nerd rage to be specific. Speaking of rage, as I’m writing this Jon/Gray Fox is yelling at MW2.

Perhaps it’s just online gaming. Maybe playing with variables that are completely beyond my control is making me upset. I enjoy playing with other people. At least, I think I do. Maybe? I enjoy playing with people in MMOs. WoW and FFXI I enjoyed meeting new people, but shooters and strategy games not so much I guess.

So what’s a gamer to do? I honestly want to hit up FF12 again. I rented Assassins Creed 2, but I lost the pull it had on me once it was in my hands. We’ll see. I do plan on continuing HoN so don’t worry about that. I just need to be a better player myself and hopefully my experience will improve. Yay for more research.
